Well, I am tired and dizzy today. Not liking some of these veggie juices. I hate celery! No more of that, thank you. Today, I have one that consists of carrots, 1/2 beet, a cucumber, apple and a lime. Not terrible! I added the apple and lime on top of the original recipe. I would never have gotten it down otherwise. This one is to detox the body. So need that!
The beet is suppose to help with my blood and skin. Both of which need TLC.
My husband has been working on his since yesterday. He started out strong, but when the withdrawal from caffeine hit, it wasn't pretty. Since I derive some strength from him, I broke last night too and ate when he did. I shouldn't have but I did. But in God's grace, it gave me an insight in an area I need work. I long ago was taught that Mike could not be my everything. Duh, Mike is a sinner like me and my hope, strength and faith should rest in Christ alone. But here is the reminder, that Christ is suppose to be my Everything! Not my 'most things'.
Lesson: Jess, rest in the Lord now and forever, even in eating. He will show the way, He will give you strength and He will save you from your bondage of sin.
Personal musings: My bondage of sin.... Yes, gluttony is a sin. Yes, when all you can think of is sugar, or that next awesome meal at Olive Garden, it gets in the way of worshiping God and is a sin, Jess!
Isn't God cool the way he uses our sin to glorify His name by teaching us and turning us from the sin and to Himself?
"Father, forgive me for my sins. Forgive my cheats. Give me strength and endurance to do this. Please let the foods you have blessed this earth with be means of healing for my body. Help me to be a good role model to my children and an encouragement to my husband.Thank you for your mercy, your eternal faithfulness, your awesome strength and your infinite love for your children. Amen."
So, I am going to finish my juice and do some scrabble. Should go for a walk later too. God bless!
